It works just like any other contract painting service — the difference is that the work is done by young people who have been involved with Youth Empowerment & Support Services, which helps 15- to 21-year-olds who are facing difficult realities such as homelessness, trauma, addictions or neglect. YESS Painting teaches business skills and life skills, pays the workers a living wage, and donates half of the profits to YESS.
Nathan Kawulka came up with the idea, and is applying his experience in the painting and construction industries to make it work. It's clear from talking to him that he cares deeply about equipping people with the skills, experience and money they need. YESS Painting's tagline is "Making the world a better place one job at a time," and if you spend a few minutes with Nathan, you'll see he believes that mission with all his heart.
