We have the great good fortune of announcing the entry of Metro Cinema Presents… Close-Up into our network.

This is a monthly roundup of films and events coming to Edmonton’s Metro Cinema, a not-for-profit society that is “devoted to creating and fostering opportunities for the exhibition of diverse, unique shared viewing experiences” at the historic Garneau Theatre. Hosted by projectionist Owen Armstrong, the podcast provides a look at the Metro calendar for the coming month, as well as interviews with guest curators who program various series and with folks who are involved in the local filmmaking scene.

Metro contributes a great deal to Edmonton’s creative community, and we’re looking forward to working with executive director David Cheoros and his team. Owen is a craftsman with radio skills honed at CJSR, among other places, and the show is a treat to listen to. We’re thrilled to include it among our other movie podcasts.
