Earbuds, an office mate's best friend - The Latest on APN - October 8-14

A cornucopia of new listens — The Latest on APN — Oct. 1-7

Thanksgiving weekend can be a lovely time in Alberta. Gatherings with abundant tables, rich colours of foliage and foggy sunrises, knobby decorative gourds everywhere. It's a sensory feast as much as the one that's centred around a turkey. Of course there's hockey and football, too.

As you sit at your table with family — chosen or otherwise — it's nice to pause and reflect on what this place has to offer. And if you worry about what's in store for the future, download this week's playlist, mute all notifications, and remember that to every thing, there is a season. And all seasons turn. Happy Thanksgiving, friends.

The shift of seasons — The Latest on APN — Sept. 24-30

As we took a dedicated day to reflect on Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30, our ears were full with stories and sounds from Canada's Indigenous voices. While taking time to appreciate the land and its fall foliage, we tuned in to A Day to Listen, produced by the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund. The full playlist is available for replay on the foundation's website, too.

While acknowledgment of the devastating history of Canada's residential schools shouldn't be limited to a single day, nature's change reminds us that there are full seasons for quieting and reflection. Those days are a requirement for the next cycle of growth. Keep your ears open, friends.

The “subscribe” button on the Listen Notes playlist below will let you grab APN’s most recent episodes for your podcatcher.
