Just in time for yuletide, the Cold Moon rises — The week on APN — Dec. 11-17

Okay, okay, we admit it. We go a little gaga during a full moon. You may have already noticed. This weekend's Cold Moon is the longest of the year, falling closely to the winter solstice on Dec. 21. With cultures around the globe recognizing this astrological turning point in the cycle, we're pretty sure there's going to be some powerful energy in that night sky. So take a note from the wisdom of Baba Yaga: Soak a glass of water in the moonlight, then drink it in the morn and feel all that lunar goodness.

If that's too woo-woo for you, fear not. Our podcasters have plenty of Yuletide episodes lined up for your secular and not-at-all superstitious star-gazing pleasure.

Also: If you know of great Alberta-based podcasts produced by BIPOC or LGBQT2S+ hosts, or any local shows we should know, tell us about them! You can also encourage them to check out our submission guidelines. We'll be reviewing applications for new member shows in January, and are also looking for diverse podcasts to boost in our 2022 Pod Power shout-outs.

We're taking a break over the next couple of weeks to examine our star charts and draft our New Year's resolutions — but we'll be back with the usual roundup on Jan. 6. 'Til then, stay warm out there, and happy holidays, from our fam to yours.

The “subscribe” button on any of the Listen Notes playlists will let you grab a playlist for your podcatcher. Sample the shows below, or check out the full week’s roundup on Spotify.
