When life gives you ice, skate on through — The week on APN — Dec. 4-10

Freezing rain and treacherous sidewalks were the news of the week, but some were happy to strap on the blades before sanding trucks caught up to conditions. Whatever your danger tolerance, if your street is a literal skating rink, you may as well join the neighbours for an impromptu hockey match.

As the more cautious souls stayed in to work on their holiday baking — really, a proper gingerbread house takes a good while to dry —the family at APN was decorating these fancy new playlists just for you.

The “subscribe” button on any of the Listen Notes playlists will let you grab a playlist for your podcatcher. Sample the shows below, or check out the full week’s roundup on Spotify.

SOCIETY & CULTURE

Mitzi Payne, founder of Arcade Studios, chatted about her journeys around the world as a second-generation Latina Canadian on this week’s anticulture with Josiah Sinanan. Speaking Municipally examines what should be done with Edmonton’s police budget and what not to do with bike lanes.
